Who is Murat Kılıç?

Murat Kılıç (born September 7, 1971) is a Turkish actor. He graduated from the Academy Istanbul Acting Department and Istanbul University Faculty of Economics.

He has appeared in numerous plays at Dostlar Tiyatrosu, Istanbul State Theater, and Tiyatro Stüdyosu. He first gained popularity with his roles in the TV series “Hadi Uç Bakalım” and “Karım ve Annem”. However, his real breakthrough came with the FıratPen commercial in 1997.

At the 15th Golden Boll Film Festival, he shared the Best Actor award with 15 of his colleagues for the film “Made in Europe”. He portrayed the role of Police İzzet in the film “Once Upon a Time in Anatolia”, directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, which won the Grand Prix at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. In 2012, he appeared in the film “Yük” directed by Erden Kıral.

He has also appeared in commercials for THY, Turkcell, Garanti Bankası, Sinpaş, Tivibu, and Finansbank.

Murat Kılıç, known for his roles in the TV series “Keşanlı Ali Destanı” (2011) and “Merhamet” (2013), recently starred alongside Şebnem Bozoklu in the film “Albüm” (2016), directed by Mehmet Can Mertoğlu. The film was honored with the “Most Innovative Director” award at the 69th Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week and won the “Best Film” award at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
